Here are some top tips to use if you find you are having issues with a gurgling or spitting vape tank. These are tried and tested and sure to help you along your vaping journey. More often than not something as simple as using the wrong liquid or condensation can really get in the way of an enjoyable smooth vape experience. Keep on top of your vape tank maintenance with these helpful tips.

Tips to stop your vape tank spitting and gurgling

Here are some helpful tips to prevent your vape tank spitting, gurgling, bubbling and just generally under performing.

To give you the best chance of making the switch from cigarettes to vaping, a little bit of maintenance goes a long way to make the experience smooth and enjoyable.

Sometimes simple checks go overlooked such as using the incorrect wattage which leads to the eliquid not being vapourised quick enough or even just a condensation build up which can be regularly wiped away.

Check for flooded coils

  • Flooding happens in a tank when the coil takes on too much ejuice. The most common reason for this is that the coil isn’t heating up quickly enough to vapourise all the juice it has absorbed.
  • This is also one of the most common reason for a vape tank spitting. An easy solution to this; turn up the wattage! More heat means more juice being vapourised for you to inhale. Speaking of the inhale make sure you take a longer and smoother draw.

Check if your coil is faulty

  • Coils are mass produced with no way of testing each one as it leaves the factory, because of this you will get the odd dud!
  • If the internal coil wire isn’t connected properly or perhaps the cotton wick isn’t sitting right juice will find its way into places it shouldn’t be and gurgle or spit.
  • Sometimes the coil may not even work at all. We should say this is very rare but can happen.
  • The only thing you can do in this case is replace the coil.

Try a new coil

  • Coils only last so long. Over time as you vape and put more and more ejuice through the cotton it starts to break down and excess liquid burns into the coil.
  • This is what causes them to become discoloured. A worn down coil should be changed for a new one when you notice the performance starts dropping or a slight burnt taste.
  • Over use of a worn down coil will cause it to bubble and lead to your vape tank spitting.

Wipe away condensation

  • Heat + Liquid = Condensation. Its no surprise that you will sometimes accumulate a build up of condensation.
  • Where heat and liquids are involved condensation is sure to follow, especially in a small enclosed space.
  • The solution to this is part of your regular maintenance.
  • Every so often just give the tank a good clean and make sure it gets wiped down every so often to prevent a built up of moisture.

Check your wattage settings

  • Coils are made to perform at their best within certain wattage settings.
  • Although mostly a guideline, wattage recommendations should be followed. If you are putting too little power through your coil it will not vaporise your ejuice quickly enough.
  • On the other hand too much wattage will result in an instant burn which can wear the coil out.
  • It is good practise to let your tank soak up juice for 5-10 minutes when a fresh coil is installed.
  • After this period start at the lowest recommended wattage and work your way up in 1 Watt increments until you find your sweet spot.

Check your tank for damage

  • Your tank or pod should be put together properly as this forms a vacuum which keeps your juice in the tank.
  • If you have a damaged seal or your tank isn’t screwed together properly this vacuum effect cant take place.
  • Check for any breaks or insecure connections on your vape tanks o rings or rubber gaskets.

Conclusion

These are our general suggestions, its essential to consider other reasons for gurgling and spitting specific to your vape tank or pod kit. If you have tried all of the above steps and the issue persists, we would suggest contacting the manufacturer or supplier for advice. We are sure that by following these steps you will have a pleasant and spit free vape experience!
